Bruce Braverman brings more than five decades of legal experience in both the public and private sectors to Enso Law LLP. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has served as a Deputy Attorney General in the Civil Division of the California Department of Justice, working in both the Los Angeles and Sacramento offices. In that capacity, Bruce represented the State of California in complex civil matters and appeared before the California Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Following his years of public service, Bruce transitioned to private practice, where his expertise in constitutional, administrative, and regulatory law has made him a respected figure among practitioners and policymakers alike. From 2013 to 2017, he served of counsel to D/R Welch, where he played a pivotal role in advancing the legal framework for California’s emerging cannabis industry and later joined Enso Law, LLP as its general counsel. Bruce was instrumental in obtaining one of the first ethics opinions permitting the practice of cannabis law in California consistent with the federal Cole Memorandum, and he contributed to the drafting of local ordinances that enabled tribal agricultural development in Northern California.
At Enso Law LLP, Bruce continues to advise on matters involving state regulatory compliance, administrative law, and government policy. His work reflects a lifelong dedication to public integrity, sound governance, and the responsible evolution of California’s legal landscape.
Bruce earned his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, where he began developing his passion for public law and the intersection of state and federal policy.
